The traditional annual International Jodo and Iaido Seminar, organised by Shinbukan martial arts club, and led by Rene van Amersfoort sensei (jodo 8^th Dan Kyoshi, iaido 7^th Dan Kyoshi) and Karl Dannecker sensei (jodo 7^th Dan Renshi, iaido 6^th Dan Renshi), was held in Sofia on March 2^nd - March 4^th 2018.

Forty-eight people took part in the event, and, among the traditional participants from Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv, there also were practitioners from Hungary, Romania, Germany, the Netherlands and Greece. At the end of the seminar, examinations for Kyu grades in iaido and jodo, and for Dan grades in iaido (up to Sandan) were held.

What was different in this year's seminar format was the fact that, simultaneously with the jodo training sessions, there also were such in iaido, held by one of the most notable German iaidokas - Peter Roeder sensei (iaido 6^th Dan Renshi).
